Nagar Kirtan, directed by Kaushik Ganguly is going to tell a tale of an LGBT couple. Their love, relationship, and struggle set the crux of the story. The film revolves around a transwoman Puti AKA Parimal, a woman in heart stuck in the body of a man. Puti fell for Madhu, a flute player and the story follows their love saga that is burdened with social dogmas, taboos, and ignorance. Puti wants to turn into a woman and Madhu becomes her only confidant in her journey. Nagar Kirtan is about the struggle of the people who live bearing the hatred, wrath, and ignorance of the society. Actor Ritwick Chakraborty play Madhu while Riddhi Sen essays the role of Puti in this venture.

Nagarkirtan has bagged four National Award including the National Award for the best actor (Riddhi Sen). The film has garnered rve reviews from the film fraternity even before its public release.

Rajlokkhi O Srikanto

Bakita Byaktigoto director Pradipta Bhattacharya is all set to make a comeback with Rajlaxmi and Srikanta. The film is not an exact adaptation of Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel but is inspired by the same. It revolves around Srikanta, a man looking for the purpose of his life who bumps into a Rajlaxmi, his childhood friend in an unexpected surrounding.

Jyesthoputro

Jyesthaputro, directed by Kaushik Ganguly is a Bengali film that deals with a superstar who returns to his home but dies he find the same, old home welcoming him. Or, it too has become a fan base for the actor? The story is about the changing relationships and identities. It also revolves around two brothers and their bond. The concept has been taken from Rituporni Ghosh’s story. Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ritwick Chakraborty will be essaying the elder son and the younger son respectively.

 

Vinci Da

Srijit Mukherjee’s thriller venture produced by SVF is to be filled with thrill and chill. It involves violent crimes. Vinchida stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, and Sohini Sarkar.

The film revolves around a makeup artist fondly called as Vinci Da in Tollywood cinema industry. Vinci Da is expert in doing prosthetic makeup. The talented artist doesn’t get his due respect and he denies to compromise with the situations. His life was an uneventful until his life, work, and fate gets intertwined with a mysterious and ruthless murderer who lives by a different identity in the daylight.

Kedara

The directorial debut of noted music composer Indraadip Dasgupta, Kedara featuring Kaushik Ganguly in the lead role is about the loneliness of an artist. A voice artist, who used to imitate the voice of children, animals, and birds in radio, is now living a lonely life and living within the characters he had given his voice to.

Kedara has won several awards in the film festivals including Special Jury Award at 66th National Award.

Ghawre Baire Aaj

Ghawre Baire Aaj directed by Aparna Sen is a reboot of Satyajit Ray’s iconic movie Ghawre Baire. It is a modern retelling of Rabindranath Tagore’s classic novel Ghawre Baire. Set at the backdrop of the current socio-political setup, the film stars Jisshu Sengupta as Sandip. Anirban Bhattacharya is roped in to play Nikhilesh. Tuhina has been roped in to play the role of Bimala. In this film, her name will be Brinda. Anjan Dutt will be seen in a pivotal role.

Gumnaami

Gumnaami, directed by Srijit Mukherjee is a film to connect the mysteries, myths, and legends surrounding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. India’s greatest freedom fighter was declared dead in a flight crash which most of the Indians believed to be bogus news. The recent research and investigations have also proved that the plane crash never happened. But, what happened to Netaji is a mystery yet to be unveiled. Many believed Netaji returned to India and a saint whom the locals would call Gumnaami Baba was Netaji in disguise.

Srijit Mukherjee’s film starring Prosenjit Chatterjee in the titular role will throw light on this mysterious side of the much loved Netaji.

Hari Gosher Gowal

Hari Ghosher Gowal is a horror-comedy Bengali film produced by Pijush Saha and directed by Subhabrata Chaterjee, the film features newcomer Partha and Srija in lead roles. It is released on 29th November 2019. This film, presented by Prince Entertainment P4, revolves around a boys hostel.
